Geometric Paradise

So I came across this incredible lovely dwelling in Yatzer and fell in love with the clean lines and sophisticated simplicity of this home designed by Tato Architects in Hieidaira Japan.

Love this room.

I love this unassuming home in all its perfection. I admire the minimalism so much and wish I had it in me to be so selective and intentional... For me, I'll always battle my cluttered mind and home. Here's to aspirations!

there's no place like home

k: i know you've been busy moving this weekend, so i thought i'd send you a bit of inspiration as you set-up your new abode.  i think this video about the home of the canadian couple behind hindsvik really captures the spirit of their world: a bright white house nestled in an expanse of bright white snow.  it could feel cold with all the light colors, but they've surrounded themselves with beautiful plants, old treasures and at least one furry companion. i especially love how  they stumble slightly as the camera follows them walking away.

i hope you and your sweet kiwi pets are settling into your new home nicely. love, j

Thriftin' Pretty

Tricia had to do a thrift inspired spread and I was lucky enough to do the styling. So thought I'd share her lovely take on vintage chic.

ombre!

diy ombre bags via tokketok
we've caught a few glimpses of blue between the cloud laden skies of portland lately - just enough to get one excited about the prospect of the impending pop of springtime colors.  with that on my mind i've pulled together a little ombre round-up.  i'm absolutely loving the pleasant little shock a tiny dip of color creates.  these hand-dyed bags by the tokketok letterpress studio are so cool and easy - they would be great for an event as party favors or even table decor.

i'm dreaming of throwing a very mod brunch accented by a tablecloth like this one.  don't you think a little dye could work wonders on a thrifted white table cloth? cheap and chic. perhaps we'd drink my favorite (and very ombre-friendly) breakfast cocktail, the tequila sunrise or this gorgeous hibiscus mimosa.

valentine's panna cotta by serious eats
of course desserts get in on the action too.  martha's wedding cake is all subtle romance, while serious eats' non-lame valentine's panna cotta is sexy and striking.  they look pretty good either way.

so glad you are back, kass.  may your day be filled with little pops of color! all love, j

Love me long time boom boom.

Well in the spirit of the upcoming love-fest, I thought I'd share some sweet ideas that I've stumbled upon this past week...

I know it would be a mission, but I would love to make something like this for an event.

Couldn't resist this find on Etsy. Nothing says 'til death like these sweet little skulls.

And for the kids, I loved this DIY Crochet Heart Garland from Design Sponge.

(Although my lazy heart would prefer to make it with paper)

Love to you,
-K.

in the mix

via mix magazine
a little st. jack love from the oregonian's mix magazine for today.  they gave a little shout out to our favorite sommelier too!  earlier this week the wee ones and i went on a field trip to oregon wine country with joel to fill wine kegs for the tap system at the bar.  it was so fun to see local winery seven of hearts' production in person- we even got to taste wine straight from the tanks. cheers! love, j
